This full-time MBA is an intensive one-year programe with a unique focus on strategic problem solving and personal transformation. Combining the latest academic thinking and hands-on business practice, the Imperial MBA equips students with the tools to achieve their career goals. The teaching is multidisciplinary and team-based, and students complete practical exercises and case studies, in addition to working on live projects with real commercial outcomes. Each year we take between 50 and 70 students from a variety of cultural, professional and academic backgrounds, with an average of six years’ prior work experience.
Core courses cover managerial concepts and the study of company functions, leading on to business environment and strategy.
The Innovation, entrepreneurship and design module is a unique course which invites you on an entrepreneurial journey during the MBA. It exposes you to the challenges of effectively introducing novel products and services to market whilst working in a multidisciplinary team. Following this, you choose six electives from a choice of over 20, completing the year with the MBA final project.
Both the MBA and Executive MBA offer you the opportunity to work on consultancy projects with big names such as Arup, PricewaterhouseCoopers, GE Healthcare, the NHS, central government and Laing O’Rourke. The benefits of this consultancy are twofold. For the organisation, the opportunity to gain a high-quality piece of research or consultancy when in-house resources are lacking; for you, the chance to work alongside potential employers and apply fresh ideas and latest management thinking.

Founded in 1991, the University of Cergy-Pontoise – UCP – is located in the Val-d’Oise district within a dynamic, pleasant city with its artistic and cultural events and numbers of theatres, museums, concert halls. It is one of the largest economic zones in France with two international airports nearby. Now, with its thriving airport, Roissy Charles de Gaulle, at 25 minute drive from the city of Cergy-Pontoise, the whole district is unrivalled with a wonderful scenary. At approximately 30 km far from central Paris, the Val-d’Oise district has gained with a high density of firms including a large number of foreign companies.
Nearby the River Oise and with a 30-year history, the city of Cergy-Pontoise has turned out to be the focus of one of the most important French architectural ventures with over 200 000 inhabitants and it is still working to reach higher levels in terms of innovation and invention. Nestled in green fields, with gardens emerged throughout the district, the city of Cergy-Pontoise has benefitted with an exceptionally rich architectural heritage, ancient sites containing a number of châteaux with significant beauty. The architectural gem is Le Château de la Roche-Guyon. The Val d’Oise dates from medieval age and Pontoise was a bustling fortress town on the bank of the River Oise.
As a result, it is a perfect location for the foundation of a university campus combining with convenient facilities and other modern public infrastructures.
The University of Cergy-Pontoise – UCP – is a dynamic state-funded university among 13 institutions for higher education and a leading centre of teaching and research, which hosts 15 000 students and 1 700 international students interested in studying abroad during a semester or an academic year – September to June – or in obtaining a degree.
As an academic and vocational establishment, five major disciplines are mainly being taught : law, economics and management, international studies and modern languages, humanities, science and technology. In addition, a large range of vocational courses are created to satisfy the need of today’s job market. Furthermore, an institute of technology – IUT – a teacher training institure – IUFM – and an administrative training institute – IPAG – are to be found at UCP.
