International School of Management (ISM)
The International School of Management (ISM) – with campuses in Dortmund, Frankfurt/Main, Munich and Hamburg – is a private, state-recognized
University of Applied Sciences that has been offering high-quality, practical, and career focused management education programs with a strong
international orientation for more than two decades. Founded in 1990, the ISM is home to more than 1,900 students pursuing business degrees in
a personal atmosphere, under the guidance of faculty and staff members. The program of study includes six bachelor’s degree programs, a part-time
bachelor’s program, six consecutive master’s degree programs, a part-time master‘s program and two MBA programs. Due to the compact structure
of all study programs, full-time students graduate with a bachelor’s degree in just six or seven semesters. Students who wish to continue their studies
with a fulltime master’s program can choose between six ISM programs: M.A. International Management, M.A. Strategic Marketing Management,
M.Sc. Finance, M.Sc. International Transport & Logistics, M.A. Psychology & Management or M.A. Strategic Tourism Management. All master‘s
programs include a 12-week internship. Students spend the third semester at one of the ISM international partner universities. After returning to Germany there is one last project which they have to complete within a 12 to 16 week period in order to receive a master’s degree: The Master’s Thesis.
The ISM also offers an MBA program geared towards graduates of all academic disciplines. Students of this part-time MBA General Management
program graduate within two years and spend four modules at partner universities in the USA, in Brussels, India and Hong Kong. A second program,
the MBA Energy Management, is organized in cooperation with the energy companies E.ON AG and RWE AG and is therefore tailored to the particular needs of managers in the energy sector.
